When referring to "Queens of Crime" in the 1930s, most commonly it refers to a group of five prominent female detective fiction writers: Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, Margery Allingham, Ngaio Marsh, and sometimes included is Christianna Brand; all considered leading figures in the "Golden Age" of detective fiction, known for their well-crafted plots, intricate characters, and often British settings.
